Our Board

Jenna

Jenna is a nurse, a mom of four, and the founder of Fair Ball Oregon. Jenna coached cheerleading for two years after graduating from Linfield College. Her inspiration for starting the organization traces back to her own children’s early experiences in youth sports, where she saw kids as young as six earning unequal playing time all in the name of winning games. That experience drove her to found Fair Ball Oregon, so that every child u2014 regardless of skill level u2014 gets the chance to play, grow, and enjoy the game on its own terms.

Krysten

Krysten is a mom of two and serves as treasurer of Fair Ball Oregon. She has owned her own small business and now works in education. A volleyball player growing up, she’s now navigating the youth sports landscape as a parent, watching firsthand how rising costs and increasing time commitments are pushing kids away from the games they love. That experience fuels her commitment to Fair Ball Oregon’s mission of keeping sports accessible and enjoyable for every child, regardless of a family’s resources or a kid’s skill level.

Sarah

Sarah Hedgepeth is in her 17th year as an assistant coach with the Willamette Bearcats. A 2004 Portland State graduate, she was twice named First Team All-Big Sky Conference and still ranks among PSU’s career leaders in rebounds, field goals made, and field goal percentage. After college, she played four seasons of professional basketball in Portugal, Puerto Rico, Hungary, and Finland. Having experienced firsthand the impact coaches can have on a young athlete’s development, Sarah supports Fair Ball Oregon’s mission to ensure every child can play in safe, respectful environments where they’re treated as young people first and athletes second.

Alex

Alex graduated from Western Oregon University in 2013 and works as a teacher. He played college baseball for two years at Pacific University before transferring to Western Oregon, and has spent his career on the basketball side ever since, coaching at the high school level and serving as a video coordinator at UC Davis and Central Michigan University. He went on to work as an assistant coach at Whitman College, then took the head coaching job at Adrian Nelson High School before returning to the assistant ranks at West Linn High School, where he currently coaches. Having worked with athletes at every level from high school to Division I, Alex supports Fair Ball Oregon’s mission to make sure every young player has access to qualified, well-trained coaches who put their safety and development first.
